Houseguest!

I've been MIA for the last few days, because we have a houseguest. Pam from The Gypsy Chef, is here visiting.

So far, we've gone to a market

To Maastricht in the Netherlands, where we had some wonderful fries

And to a typical Belgian village:

Pam was warmly welcomed by all:

My friend Fran├žoise is on holiday. Today we went to her garden and raided the raspberries and currants and wild strawberries. (Hello, Fran├žoise!)

We had a supervisor:

And we cooked, of course.

Tomorrow we're off to Ghent to explore, and Wednesday we'll go to Aachen in Germany. At some point we'll come up for air and share some recipes for you. meanwhile, here are a couple of teasers:

Stay tuned!

What fun! Can't wait for the recipes.

Is that really, truly a nun pushing a wheelbarrow with a dog in it? And here I thought that pushing your dog in a stroller was strictly a Seattle thing!

Pam & Kate together-that's double trouble (smile)! Hope you guys are having fun and relaxing (sleep in Europe is good. I don't know why-it just is). Oh, and your photos are so nice, guys! Pretty...

Thanks for your comments--we are having fun! Ju, Pam says hi right back.

Rowdy, that's not really a nun. We went to a village fete and some of the villagers were dressed as nuns. The little boy is in costume too. He was absolutely darling. We both fell in love with him.

I love that you and Pam are having such a super time! I wish I could be a little mouse in your pocket.

That little teaser looks suspiciously like a verrine! I'm going away for a couple weeks but will be back to catch up on the recipes.

How fun! I really did have aunts who were nuns in Holland, and they wore their habits always...so you had me fooled. :) I had the chance to stay with one of them in the convent. It was beautiful! I can't wait to see what kind of recipes you'll post--take care!

Where was I when you were making these marvelous plans!!! I haven't been to Gent, but have a list of must sees of Flemish artist work in the museums there. The trip to the market looked like so much fun, and I am green over the pretty little glass bowls. Do you have a source for them? I have a glass fetish!
I have been away - so am so far behind on my readings, but really enjoyed this one. Did the two of you meet through blogging?
What a blast!
:)
